Please excuse my terrible French. I am writing in English and then using an internet translator in French.

I live in Massachusetts, USA and have collected small clay santons for many years. Many of my santons are made by current well known santonniers, Carbonel, Fouque, Jouve. I also have rare santons by Rene Pesante, Cayol, Junoy, Pagano, Gaubert-Caillol, Neveu Family. I also have three dressed santons by one of the Sumien brothers. I also have santons made by an American santonnier, Michelle Saint Alexis Scott. Recently, I purchased what appear to be African American Santons , unsigned, not new -- the fish monger is a young black women, a young black man is carrying watermellons, an older man is carrying a broom and bucket of water. Does anyone know which santonnier made have made these santons?

I can't help you to know the origin of the "black santons " you owned, but if you can send us photos, maybe we'll find something...
As for the others "Pagano, Junoy" and so on.... I would be very pleased to see their photos, because I personnally dont' know them.The only ones I know are Carbonel , Neveu....in fact all the French ones.

Merci pour ton compliment JM, mais je n'ai aucun mérite j'étais prof d'Anglais; mais l'essentiel c'est de se comprendre, même si si ce n'est pas parfait.
C'est appréciable de parler cette langue car cela permet des contacts ailleurs par exemple, je corresponds aussi avec la fondatrice du musée des creches de Sydney en Australie, elle m' envoyée un livre superbe sur les creches mais "all in English", et malheureusement elle ferme son musée;
Voilà cela élargit un peu notre petit monde!!!!
